Hi - was looking at the engel eclipse the other day, has anybody got one? Any reviews or comments? They are cheaper than the steel units, almost same volume, seem like they are winners. Only problem I could see is the latches are a little weak.

Thoughts?

I have got 2 of them . 1st was to replace the late 70s Engel I had for years & sold 2nd to increase the cooling ability . Some in my camp have been known to really give it a nudge
On trips we cryovac the meat & run 1 Engel as a freezer & 2 as cooler for beer  etc .been running now for 21/2 years not a problem . Keep an eye on Rays  & Annaconda as from time to time they slah the price . Be quick & you can do well .

I've got one.
Had it for nearly two years, so far so good. The clips still work fine. As long as you dont try and jam in too much stuff and hope the clips will pull the lid tight, then they should last. I got mine from a camping show in Perth. Pritty sure I paid $799 with all the free goodies.

We've had one for a couple of years now and have had no problems at all.  It's our drinks fridge so it gets quite a workout, and it's still like new.

Happy shopping!

Ill translate for you Speewa

"Will Do, should protect the casenand insulatevas well Thanks"

I will do that, it should protect the holdy together frame and make it chillier also, thanks 8)

We have had one for 2 years, much better than a waeco and plenty strong enough. Ours is in a make him chillier bag too.

Over xmas we had the Engel running as a freezer and a borrowed weaco as a fridge. The weaco seemed to draw more power from the battery from the little tests we did. Also the weaco was supposed to be 57ltre I think but the weaco and engels basket are the same size ???

Cheers Pauly

We love ours we use it as a freezer for the meat and it works well no issues with the catches in the 2 years we have had it. :cup:
