Currently looking at a  few of vehicles that are for sale. All have v8 conversions and one has a turbo but all are ls2's or ls3's. Who here owns a v8 converted patrol or cruiser and how did you go with insurance. Who is the best and what sort of dollars am I going to be looking at please. Any info would be greatly appreciated thankyou.

I have wondered the same thing about that.
Always wondered if I did the conversion. How hard insurance world be and who actually will cover it.
Will be following this tread.
Always give 100%... Unless you are giving blood.. then it may not go so well...

When we converted our 62 series Landcruiser from 6cyl petrol to a 6.5lt V8 Chev Diesel the majority of insurance companies ran a country mile !!

We ended up getting insured through Suncorp with no problems  :cup:, the rest didn't even finish the forms over the phone........they just stopped and said, ah......it's been modified, game over  >:(

Good luck with your research,

I have had My Nissan insured through a couple of insurance companies, even had a claim when it was stolen, and had a new V8 fitted to replace the original, as the pricks drove it until they destroyed it.
Although I had a few arguments with the the assessor as he wanted it done on the cheep.

To name a few.  Most do online instant quotes, but expect to pay a premium if its a daily driver.

When I had my FJ40 with 350 chev conversion, Suncorp did it with no problems. Wasn't too over priced either. But that was a few years ago.
