Bog std with LHD and the original (I'm pretty sure) motor. I read somewhere that lots of this model get bastardised with BIG motor transplants?
We've waited 45 years to do this. Now our life will be complete!!

The 202 HJ ute made a 180km trip with the 202 LJ Torana on the trailer, for my daughters wedding. It was the first drive more than 30km, never missed a beat & returned 19 L/100km. Livin in the 70's.

Very nice pair... although I reckon the 202 would have to go ;)

Pretty cool, amazing they went from 100,000+ cars in 1995 to shut down 20 years later.

And not a hi-viz to be seen for a long time haha

Oooh yeah! Is it a ZC/ZD? What price are they asking ballpark?

I was looking a couple years ago for one, were around the $20k mark. Like everything they are worth $$$$$$$ now...

ZD, wont say price at this stage, I'm still undecided, not on the buy price, just the finished price. I'm nowhere near as fastidious as Jeepers, (nor have the skills) so just have to decide whether i have the staying power to restore

They're a nice car to own/drive.... do it.

If you can afford it then do it
You'll only regret not doing it later
Anyway you can always sell it later if it's not you

Based on the one photo....

You could simply do  a make-over of anything that's suss.

Replace all the Shit like suspension bushes, joints and rod ends.
Replace/overhaul the brakes.
Revamp the cooling system, every hose, clamp, radiator and heater core.
Overhaul or replace the alt and starter.
Service the engine, auto and diff.
If an A/C car, overhaul it.... if not, fit one for the Nth Qld summers.
Touch up any bodywork, clay bar and ceramic polish the living Shit out of it.
5 new tyres and shuffle off to Qld Transport.

You'll have a very nice chrome bumper cruiser that won't smash the budget.

OR.... you can go all out..... but its a friggin big job and costly.

Thanks for that kev, it is helpful to have some info.
The car is quite straight & surprisingly doesn't have a lot of rust.
I would need to change out the driveline tho as it is coded for a 351, but currently has a 289 in it.
The current owner has a quite few spares & upgrade parts, so it's really a matter of final $$$, hoping he'd package the lot for under $10k

Agree, It doesnt look as if it would require a full rebuild, just a freshen up. IMO if you spent $10k on it (excluding any engine transplant) you would end up with a nice useable cruiser.

EDIT:  assuming the interior is reasonable.....
