Bugger me..... I drove all the way down to Lloyds this morning to suss out a very rat rod style EK Holden wagon.

I'd already bid on it prior, but needed to see it in the flesh, you know, to know exactly how far I should go $ wise.
Got home to find the f***stick has pulled it from the auction now with less than 6 hours to auction time.

Stuff me sideways, I blew $80.00 worth of fuel to look at the friggin thing too. (I took the Caddy)

Time to get a different Quick release unit methinks ... Never liked those ball lock type ones  Or make sure the unit is fully clipped in place before going out of the pits .. Good save  though .

THis is it, last Sunday, so fresh, he didn't have time to register it prior to the show. (Went in on a tilt tray)

Sorry, just took a bit to register that 70 years only goes back to the 48 215, (still stuck in the 70s) was thinking back to when Holden was it's own company making and putting bodies on imported chassis.  A true Australian manufacturing company.

like back in the day when servo's were SERVICE stations.. You could get wiper blades, sparkplugs, leads etc mower blades, tyres, flat tyres fixed, the person would come out and check ya oil/water etc etc etc

You guys are all just looking in the wrong places... We still have that style of servo here. Although in saying that, finding a timing gun today was a challenge... One workshop fid have one and let me borrow it to tweak the timing a touch.

Just heading to the coast and had half a dozen hot rods and customs head to Armidale for the Smoke and Iron run at Armidale. Would.normally be there for a wander at the least but not going to make it this year.
