in ten years I'll be 61, and the wife will be 58.

*hopefully* we'll be on the road and working as needed to support the lifestyle.

I'll be in my early 50's. Kids will be at uni or working. Hopefully the house is paid off and I'll be looking at slowing down on working at sea. Plan to travel as much as possible.

10 year time Proudy we both be lucky if we are still employed on the water!

10 years for me hopefully sees the eldest at uni or working, the youngest doing year 12 and the wife and I semi retired.
Always had it in my head to retire early or atleast be working casually from late 40s onwards..work for fun instead of it being a necessity. Probably wont happen but a man can dream!

not for me, my wife and my two autistic sons.  their improvement every day, helped along in no small part by the government, brings me hope and a smile every day.

in ten years time, it is my hope and fervent belief that they will be good people and upstanding members of society, that choose to show compassion and acceptance, and not a dark, cloudy troll like some, in this world.

We also benefit from government support for services for our autistic daughter.  We couldn't possibly pay for what we access, so are very grateful to taxpayers.  Fortunately, she loves going on holidays and will be with us on an upcoming Long Service Leave trip to WA.  Can't wait.

In 10 years I hope to be considering a redundancy if they come up at my place of work as that will mean Ive been there for 25 years and the pay out should see me through to super time.

Its a simple plan by a simple man :)

As with everyone else in here, my life is good. I have a loving wife and two beautiful daughters aged 11 & 9. My life is not perfect, but with them around me and roof over my head I love my life.

Your life is what YOU make of it, no one owes us a thing. Stabi, if you are serious about what you are saying here, I just hope I never suffer to meet you. I would not want the negativity to rub off.

What a great thread idea !!

If we are still around and have survived 40 plus years ( currently 36  :'( ) of working for QHealth  we will have probably upgraded to a self contained C'Van.
Love the swan outback as it is a huge step up from sleeping in tents on the ground, but sure as night follows day...there comes a time when a van is the next natural step...isn't it ?

Yeah I have two daughters 15 and 17 years old. To be totally honest I am not looking forward to the next few years. So far they have managed to remain boyfriend free somehow.... >:D My oldest just got her licence last week.  :cup:
I guess one day I have to be happy for some other bloke to look after them but definitely not yet......  ;D

LC

Hopefully our two boys will be reasonably independent in about 10 or so years. Then it will be time to sell the house, the 4wd, the camper, pack up and go sailing for a few years.
