By taking Freshwater track?

You can show us all at the National Meet in a few months.  ;D

With enough horse power, sheer ignorance and a total lack of respect for your vehicle, you'll get through....

Considering both cars will now have spent a couple of days in the salt water, I would guess both are heading straight for the crusher.

We were up at Rainbow last year and the conditions around the rocks were similar to the photo in above post by Edz.

In the 2 hours I was swimming with the kids I would have witnessed at least 20 cars run the gantlet around the rocks with all these cars driving in salt water ranging from wheel depth to waves crashing through open windows or over bonnets. A couple of these cars did sink and needed a quick snatch form good Samaritans who put their own 4WD's in jeopardy. But this still didn't put people from trying after the 4WD was cleared.

Maybe I'm getting old and boring, but that type of driving is way too risky for me.

Never been there before can someone answer

A are you forced to go around the rocks as there is no other way

or

B Is there a bypass track and this is simply the fools shortcut so to speak ???
I Drink & I Know Things

edz

Here ya go the rocks are near Rainbow at the northern end ...   The bypass you can use is  Freshwater track  south of  Double Island Point  ...can be rough, hot and boggy sand hill climbs but usualy not to bad ..takes about an hour to do the 20k to the turn off and comes out about 10k from Rainbow,  the beach section is a nicer drive and could shave about 30 to 40 minutes on a good trip and is usualy the better / nicer way to get to the Gateway to Fraser .
