My recommendation as well, worked for me

paceman

i had to get something prescribed because quells, etc don't work for me...

i had to take one 12 hours before the trip (to get it into my system) and then one before we left..

they worked for me, and i normally get seasick in the bath, let alone on the ocean... :)

plenty of tips in this 'enemy' thread as well...

one that i found interesting was the cotton wool in one ear.  helps with the inner ear movement...  never tried it, but will on my next trip...

Quells or travel Calms etc only makes me drowsy and still end up throwing up. While plenty of people have laughed at me over the years, what works for me is those wrist bands with half a marble which pushes on a pressure point in your wrist.

achjimmy

Quells for me, but as above make me thirsty and give me a bit of a spin!

Here for a good time, not a long time!

My SWMBO gets travel sickness - in the car as well, if she's a passenger. On at least one occasion she made herself car sick when she was driving. Pretty nasty thing really.

She finds that ginger tablets work for her, and is a lot less likely to cause damage than restricted prescription drugs like (say) Maxolon ...

Why

Do you actually get violently sea sick and i mean violently

A light breaskfast and stay on your feet up on deck is sometimes the best prescription

Try to avoid the exhaust fumes from the motor.  Especially the smoke when starting 2 stoke outboards.
Exhaust fumes are a well known trigger for sea sickness.

below sea level

Quells or plain old regular ginger.

Seasick is the most Shit feeling on the face of the whole universe, and don't wanna pay $ for the fishing gig and then spend 12 hours spewing up ribs, kidneys and Shit

stabicraft

Sea sickness is all in the mind.
I fly all over the world in all manner of planes and no matter how bad it gets .............no problem.

I go out in my small (5m) stabicraft and no matter how big or lumpy the seas..................no problem.

I get into a fishing trawler or similar sized boat (10m plus)..................I burly up..

The difference?   its all in the mind.
Dont let people convince you that you will get sick, just keep telling yourself that its just like riding the roller coaster.

PS my cure for fishing trawlers and big boats........just keep eating, while you are eating it cant go both ways.

Marschy

Get fishnickered the night before and give yourself the mother of all hangovers. That way you wont know if it is the hangover or seasickness.  >:D

Best cure for seasickness ...... stand under a tree :)

Go the Kwells but get two packets from different places.
I went on 7 day fishing charter off Bundaberg a few years ago and took some Kwells with me, but the first pack were stale and did not work. After the first day of free burley I thought I was in for a week of misery. I tried the second packet and they worked a charm. For such a small cost take a reserve just in case.

Jeepers Creepers

If ya start to feel crook, just sit down and watch the bow rail...

Up and down, up and down, up and down,  ;D

Or use Quells, we have 'em on the boat just for people like you.
I DON'T CARE HOW NICE THE HAND SOAP SMELLS.....

You should never walk out of the public toilets sniffing your fingers.

A chemist recommended Quells tablets to me before a whale watching cruise, but suggested I take them 24hrs beforehand. They knocked me out, and when I came to, I couldn't move my arms or legs for hours and still felt extremely nauseous even before getting on the boat. It may just be my luck, but maybe you could do a test run before you go?

I just use the wristbands now. They don't take the feeling completely away, but I don't burley up the water anymore.

Pray for a calm day ;D
