Anyone else watched this awsum documentary series.a realy sensible no bollocks approach to if life exists elsewhere and how it started here.
That life given the right environment. ..given there are billion s of possible unexplored planets will exist.
My question if as in earth's evolution would we merge with a more advanced civilisation or being or would we be enslaved or enslave them.
I can't see the nice nice approach. If they are looking for new environments it's for the same reasons we do.ours is doomed

Even at the speed of light it is an incredibly, almost impossible to imagine, distance between us and even the closest planet that would sustain a similar life to ours.

Life that is out there will take on incredible diversity depending on the make up and characteristics of it.  I doubt we will ever be visited by another species.

Love that show btw.  Inspiring to watch.
My alternative to cheap import trailers;

Interesting to see this thread had lead to a few comments, shows how switched on many swaggers are.

I like that show, but missed it this week. I like Brian Coxs shows, he takes a tangential view of life.

I think the likelihood of us visiting other civilisations out there in the next 10000 years is pretty low.

On the other hand, I think the more advanced have already infiltrated our domain. They lie in wait ready to fill our niche!

One of my favourite sci fi tv shows (franchise) was Stargate. So I still have hope there is some device that can instantly transport a human through a "wormhole" to a far off world where everyone speaks either English or some form of Egyptian!

On at 8:30 tonight if anyone wants to check it out. ABC 1.

Trouble is it clashes with WW2 Air crash detective on SBS.
