Thanks for clarifying that. I had misunderstood and you're right about it being confusing. A clear national standard applied by all states would be great but I won't hold my breath.

Just to throw another option in, Complete Campsite are about to release a tvan competitor called an Exodus 9, I haven't found any photos yet but going on the quality of the other two Exodus models it might be worth checking out.

I have a Tvan Murrunji with a front storage box that has the spare tyre on top.
I bought a tow ball weight scales, and fully loaded my ball weight comes in at 180kg. Not the lightest but definitely not the heaviest.

Our tvan has gone over the canning stock route, Anne Beadell and a few other spots without an issue.

Re heat in the camper, we spent near to 2 weeks in Broome with no issues what so ever.

They are a great unit, ridiculously fast to set up. If you just want to pull up and sleep, there is no setup at all.

They are very capable off road. If you want a serious off road camper and have the budget, consider Tvan, Complete Camp site or Kimberly in my opinion.
