This has been floating around facebook. Sums up Townsville.  ;D
High tide was higher in the usual areas though.

Further south copped a bit more  of a flogging though. I saw some pics of Keppel Island off Yeppoon - The wild waves have undermined & damaged some of the buildings.

Apparently there was a reason the cyclone moved south - Campbell Newman was in town.. ;D ;D

32 degrees at midnight the last 2 x nights... It's not easy to get a good nights sleep. Maybe a belly full of p!ss tonight after a session @ the club will help? Hopefully the kids leave daddy alone in the morning...

I haven't had more than 5 mm in a day since the 1st of October last year. The Renmark weather station says we have had a few rain events, but they have missed Renmark. The BOM weather station is about 7 km out of town.

I actually had to use the windscreen wipers on the way to work today. Not for long and not very heavy but a little rain is better than nothing.

Pity it was falling mainly through the Parkes township rather than on the farms.

Wow That is awesome. I think we might do the same over the next few days but 400 in 24 is a lot of water. Are you still on land or floating  ;D

Awoke this morning to sound of water flowing in the downpipes, it is bucketing down.

I was supposed to check crabpots, I am going to give it a miss.

Been p*ssing down since about 2 this morning. We've had about 3 inches since 9am Saturday til this morning. Plus the 100mm last Friday.
Cheers, Mike.
