Hope all is well with ya Foo...

Yeah goin okay thanks.

Not looking forward to next Wensday but my main concern is making sure that Dad gets through this.  :'(

We've been doing shifts staying with him so that he isn't alone and we've had plenty of laughs and tears remembering different antics that we all got up to and the reactions from Mum.  :)

So long as you have tried your best, you should have no regrets.

It sure is, I've been fighting just that for more than 40 years. Like a Glen Cambell song "Some days Are Diamonds And some Days are stone"
I can go months, weeks or days and I am truly ok , and then the tiniest thing can trigger off  the depression, it can last a few hours or days, all I want to do is be left alone, curl up in a ball and do nothing,no thoughts, no breathing just nothing. I do eventually get out of it ,but leaves you exhausted .
I have no shame about talking about the "Black Dog ",I just hope it can help somebody else.

So ,please, if somebody asks, "ARE YOU OK" and you're not, SAY SO, it really is ok to say "NO I'M NOT"

We acknowledged R U OK day at work yesterday - I only got to see the start of proceedings as I was finishing night shift however a day of gathering, sharing and checking in had been planned which was lovely.

To do my bit I took our English Bull Terrier into work this morning briefly to love on some of my colleagues - I asked everyone who came for a pat "Are you OK?".

Every shift I am involved with cases where people are struggling with their mental health. I'll admit I am definitely NOT ok after some of my shifts. Not ashamed to say I regularly check in with our Psych. We also have a wonderful Peer Support network which I have leaned on countless times.

It's so important Swaggers...if you are not OK...tell somebody X
