Cute kid, i sure hope she's ok.

Does she have a busted wrist?

Haha mate!....... I just about shat bricks when I walked into the hospital this morning. I thought the same thing.
Its actually covering a small soft splint to stop her moving her wrist with the cannula in. (And to stop her from pulling it out)

Thoughts with you EVO there is nothing worse mate, we went through it with our youngest and it turned out to be a simple thing in the end mate. Lets just hope your journey is similar and she is running around giving you cheek before you know it !

Jas

Thanks mate, we are hoping for the simple thing. But it isn't looking promising unfortunately. The bug count in her test was far too high. :(

But positive thinking is power so fingers crossed.

Good to see the little one is doing better!!

I hate even going away for work, let alone over seas for 9 months for work and knowing the little ones are sick for no reason.

Pm sent mate.

All the best for the little one, and make sure you send the wife for some down time as they can tend to beat themselves up if its not good news but say they are ok. Thinking of you all.

Hope things improve soon.   You can tell a lot from the foot of the bed.   Looking at her photo, from a medical perspective; she is a good colour, good posture and taking in her surroundings.   Doesn't look too bad.   (Its the pale, floppy, zoned-out ones you worry about.)
Good luck for tomorrow.

Thanks mate will do. The scans are booked in for 9am tomorrow so we should finally know if we have anything to seriously worry about.
Unfortuantely the strength of her infection is leading the doctors to believe that the valve between the kidney and bladder isn't working properly. Which can be a bit of a worry.

Not sure on the Heart murmur yet, they are constantly checking it but we haven't heard anything else on that yet.

Hey Evo so sorry to hear beautiful Kathleen is not well I hope that you have more answers from the hospital soon. From your original post I don't know why they didn't move her straight away seems odd to me that they would wait until 2am especially with little baby.  But like you said in good hands now and if they send you to the RCH in good hands there too just further from home.  If you need anything at all just let us know. Thoughts with Chantelle also

Hi Evo
I soncrely hope that by noe you have had some better news.  I know tha whebn I was recently in the cardiac ward for a while some parents came in with their yougsters, and a couple of the nurses explained to me that the little ones were always stronger than their parents.......and that amazing things can be done these days.
I really hope all is getting better my friend, and stll thinking of you, your family and bubs.

Best wishes mate, the little ones are always tougher than you think. And often when they bounce back its super fast. Here's hoping that's the case.
Here for a good time, not a long time!

Hi guys. Firstly
A big thank you to everyone for you well wishes and kind words. It is very much appreciated.  :cup:
Just goes to show how kind the Myswag family is.
The offers for assistance should we need to go to the Royal Childrens Hospital in Melbourne has been amazing and even though we still aren't sure if we need to go, we appreciate the offers and are amazed at the generosity of others that we have not even been lucky enough to meet in person.

We have had some good news and some not so good news today. The scans showed that the kidney appears normal, but was not able to show clearly the valves nor the bladder so we are still unsure of that. The test results are due in sometime today and will hopefully let us know what we are dealing with. Kath is much more alert now and even gave us some smiles today  ;D

The Heart murmur is still an unknown at this point. It has caused a couple of frights over the last couple of days but seems to have settled down somewhat. We were told the main priority at this point is to clear the infection and find out why it is there and what needs to be done to resolve it.
If the Murmur stays how it is now for the next couple of days then it will require monitoring for the next few weeks to find out just how bad it is.

Chantelle is coping better now and said to share her thanks to everyone and that she is looking forward to meeting you all either at the trip next week or at the national meet to say thank you in person.

Cheers
