I recon there would be more to the story behind why he was arrested, but in the clip at about the 3min mark you can clearly see the cop drop the flag on the ground, and moments later walks on it. edit- reading the bill, the defense would be that it was not a deliberate act so no offence committed by Mr Plod. I remember from my school days as a flag boy, it was a mortal sin if you ever let the flag touch the ground.

I reckon it was set up, mate there filming, they knew they would be asked to move on to prevent a breach of the peace. I think the coppers were nothing but respectful, he certainly didn't put up much of a fight either. I think they just wanted to get the point across that it is Australia Day and not invasion day, changing the date will change nothing and I for one will not pay the penalty for the sins of my fathers. It is time to move on and unite.
Before anyone jumps on me, my granddaughter is quarter cast, she will learn about her heritage as an indigenous Australian and as an Australian, no bias, ultimately she will have to make a life on her own beliefs.
