I like the idea of the Rhino, light weight to lift off yourself and very flexible to change around

I have a tradesman rack at home, thing weighs a ton, and cause of that limits how much weight you can put up there let alone remove it yourself - impossible without pulley system.
Small rhino type - 10min job on ya own.

Nope steel one, cost me $150ish off ebay and ended up being a bloke i knew off exploroz in cranny :)

But if i had to buy new, I'd go with the Rhino stuff, specially for the price. Lots more flexible as to what you can do with it.

As an update, the decision HAD been made, it was going to be the TRADESMAN OVAL ALLOY  which are made here in Melb.  Very seriously considered the basket from Rhino which i liked and was a similar price.  Got some great service and advice from Everything 4WD in Cranbourne

But then there was Ebay .......

Black Widow who make the storage systems, also make Alloy Roof Racks and the were selling off their demos, so I picked up on with a 3 yr warranty for $ 565, RRP is around $1500, i still had to get the fitting kit, but certainly cheaper than new.  These are made in Melb as well

Thanks for your suggestions and advice.

Cheers

Phil

Will fit it in the next week or 2.

so rack is now ready to go, will put it on the car tomorrow - Matty wanted me to post a pic of bub on the roof rack - refer attached.  She came out to assist in putting it all together, but she just slept - not much help at all.

Thanks again for all of your advice and suggestions.  We're heading away on the long weekend so will load it up as a trial run for future trips.
