I don't know if all tours are the same but when our 4wd club did the tour a couple of years ago Jess asked us lots of questions as we went and gave out little key ring thingys for correct answers, those with the most key rings won prizes...  I got my tyre deflator that night as a prize!  It is worth listening to what they talk about.  I actually listened because I found it interesting, the prize was a bonus.
