I know I saw a thread on here a week or so ago where members from FNQ were discussing this very thing.
For the life of me I can not find it now now matter what search words I use.
We need to get the Aussie Swag we purchased that is in Warner, Qld 4500 up to Edmonton, Qld 4869.
Morag phoned a few transport companies listed in the phone book but after a week only one has bothered to get back to us with a quote.
Driving down and bringing it back is not an option at this time.
Any thoughts folks???

I know it's a long way Bill, but maybe a few swaggers could do a bit of a relay and bring it closer to you?

Or is this a silly idea  ???

I have heard that the caravan/camper trailer companies (Jayco Cormal etc) may be a possibility due to deliveries and no back load.

Hi Bill, I am going to use this mob to transport my dinghy from Cairns to Perth, not cheap though they were the only ones to come back with a quote, there Cairns Depot is out your way.

Hi Col,
I work for the largest freight transport Co in Oz, you can mail me direct if you like and i will get you in contact with the vehicle transport group people to assist - cant help with pricing  :'(.  Just keep in mind that this is by far their busiest time of year in the lead up to Xmas - supply and demand principles....

I think it's a great idea, amd the great Aussie way. If I was on your route, I would be putting my hand up to help, but I think I am a bit out of the way.  Hope you get it home safely.

to much to go wrong.

In an ideal world I would already be on the road picking up the camper trailer.
At least with the transport company it is insured...

A big Thank You to all the members that assisted in getting us quotes to get our camper trailer shipped up here.
We got quotes from all the transport companies that were suggested.
It will be picked up on Monday from the sellers house and delivered direct to my house on Thursday.
I was more than a little shocked at the big differences in pricing.
Once again a Big Thank You to all of you...

And for those interested in moving one north from Brissy in the future give Doug and Janelle Johnston a call up in Tolga.
Have known DJ a long time and he will do the right thing by us. His quote was very reasonable and for anyone with a
brand new Tracky up here it probably came up on the back of one of Doug's roadtrains.

Anyhow looking forward to seeing the new beast Bill, should be a sweet bit of kip.

Wow ... if you haven't posted any pic's of the new camper , one can only assume that it hasn't arrived .
Have you been able to contact the truck driver at all ?.
Sometimes its better to pay a bit more and go with the established guys .

Best of luck .. hope you get your camper

rellbell

Aww you must be disappointed. We are all just as excited as you on the pending arrival. Lucky you will have a couple of weeks to move into it before the Woodleigh Station adventure. ;D ;D ;D cheers rellbell

Arrived yesterday Jim,

Saw a photo on the myswag facebook page. Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh though.

Does this mean we will have to help Bill and Morag wet  the roof?
