Criminals are generally not the most intelligent, others wise they wouldn't be criminals as they wouldnt get caught. Generally not the sharpest tools in the shed.....

So whats the difference between them and us ........ a couple of years ?
I personally think we are pretty safe but need to stop the boat loads. I was working on the channel tunnel and regularly rang police to report trucks stopping at the motorway service station, drivers walking away and a minute later the doors fly open and a semi load of people spewed out and disappeared into the woods nearby! This actually happened day after day on the m20 in Kent near Maidstone. I think we are safer than the uk due to uur resources but my kidS won't have it so easy.!

Fewer than 5% of asylum seekers arrive by boat ??? and whilst I do not condone this method of asylum seeking, some of them are escaping horrific situations in their home country and I would not want my family living in those conditions either.

Its more about immigrants being prepared to live by Australian law and speaking our common language, just as we would have to if we went to live in another country. If they are not prepared to do so and or breach our laws they should be put on a plane and sent back to where they came from, no questions.

I too think its only a matter of time before something similar happens here in Australia, unless our Government ahhh mmm ohh that's right quoted from another part of this forum " Remember when Australia used to kick arse, NOT LICK IT"

We have a winner. Couldnt agree more.
Look at the place they burnt down in Villawood - not only did they do it, they had SUPPORTERS outside the fence cheering....  Some great people we let in the country there. Who picks up the $8,000,000+ bill for that?

There are countries that have a flat NO policy to them, no correspondence will be entered into... those countries aren't shunned by the international community like Canberra like us to think will happen if we do the same.

Wonder if that same judge that thinks burning houses, cars, and bashing people thinks this one warrants Jail time.

A 68-year-old man set upon as he tried to stamp out a fire during the London riots has died, Scotland Yard says.

Richard Mannington Bowes, 68, was bashed, suffering head injuries, on a road in Ealing west London on Monday night.

Scotland Yard says he was attacked about 10.45pm after remonstrating with teenagers who were setting fire to two industrial bins outside a shopping centre.Officers who went to his aid were pelted with missiles.

Bowes, of Ealing, was placed on a life-support machine following the attack, which took place as violence spread through the capital.

He died just before midnight (UK time) on Thursday, Scotland Yard said.

Detective Chief Inspector John McFarlane, of the Met's Homicide and Serious Crime Command, said: ''This was a brutal incident that resulted in the senseless killing of an innocent man.
