Only if you've got a MPPT solar reg.  8)

Great idea D4D - I think it would be good to recognise some of our more helpful members in this way. I'm happy with your categories too :

Don't want to get too many - we don't need it to be an "everyone gets a trophy!" award!  ;D

Maybe a voting thread for each category, let them run for a month, and then lock the thread and tabulate the results? No idea how we could collect the results - if it was a poll, then the person maintaining the thread would constantly have to be adding new answer categories to the poll as new nominations arrive. If just thread replies, then people might not like their votes being public, and it'd be hard to tally up. In short, I have no answers - only more questions  ;D

Thanks!
Matto :)

OK how about these

Overall MySwagger of the year
Best trip report
Best camper
Best forum contributor

Not really keen on the "Best Camper" category, as that might just end up being whoever has the most $$$ to spend.  I think if we are to do this we need to focus on the elements that make this forum the success that it is, and promote those.  My picks would be -

Myswagger of the year (Gold trophy)

Most helpful forum member (Gold trophy)

Best trip report (Silver trophy)

Best homemade camper (Silver trophy)

Best camper modification (Silver trophy)

Best photo of the year (Bronze trophy)

Have the votes at around November each year?

While I think its a lovely gesture, do we need a popularity contest?

1 person wins, 3000 get offended by not winning and disappear

Why not make it SMS your votes to...

This is evidence darren is getting soft.

I think it's a great idea that should never eventuate, we can just talk about it forever.

Whilst it is nice to recognise the efforts of others, the myswag convention is to go to your fridge and return with a cold beverage, offering this to the one you whose effort you appreciate. Or variations on this theme, but you get the point.

Whatever eventuates, we must endeavour to reward the winner with something not related to their field of expertise. I couldn't help but think this was a waste of resources upon seeing a comp in a popular 4X4 mag.  You will recognise this.  The comp was to send in a list of all the great gear/mods you have attached to your rig.  Some of these lists were huge, and I imagine took a couple of second mortgages to achieve.  The winners got a new set of muddies.  Why on earth would a bloke who has spent well over  $200K  on a wagon need some more tyres?  Just my thoughts.
