Install projector mount onto timber post

Hi all,

I am looking to install a wall-mounted projector mount onto one of the 100x100 hardwood posts in our outdoor area...

The mount is linked below and would be perpendicular to the upright post:

It's for movie nights with the kids and maybe sporting events, so it would be good to be able to remove it when not in use...

I initially was going to use T-nuts for this install, but am not 100% sure that they will be suitable...

Is there another option that would make more sense?

I don't think just screwing into the post and unscrewing each time will be effective after a few removals of the mount...

Any advice appreciated...

Big bolts and nuts/wing-nuts all the way through.
Or fix a steel plate in the right place and bolt to that, either loose nuts or captive nuts.
Or sandwich the post with mounting plates, up to you.
A Hole right through may not appeal to some, but a steel plate with captive nuts is a long lasting fix.
Just have to guard it so people don't run into it accidentally.

Maybe you could use a double thread coach screw http://www.tradeproducts.com.au/category/catalog/handrail-brackets/double-thread-coach-screw and then hold the bracket on with some dome head nuts....simply undo the nuts to remove and  put dome head nuts back on so it's not a sharp item sticking out the post with bracket removed
