Somebody once said to me "there are no flies on you". They were wrong.  ;D
Last week at The Pilliga. The picture shown does not do them justice.
They were on occasions much friendlier than that.

Hi,
    http://www.viacorp.com/flybook/fulltext.html

I think it was Len Beadel who said if they were thick enough a hat was not needed for sun protection.

Cheers

The flies got that bad at the Murray you couldn't even open your mouth to breath.

By mid morning the Mrs made me pack up and we were out of there.

Het Bird, do you think you may need to get out a bit more????

LOL. I'd love to know where you find this stuff. Or perhaps not?

I use this at work. Put a small bit on your finger & rub it across your nose & cheeks like you would zinc. They may fly in front but they won't land on your face.
It's as good as a gift from god out here

Stopped one minute and presto.

Your worst nightmare is behind you. 😈

So long as you have tried your best, you should have no regrets.

We used this product (was marketed by another Alice Springs company under a different name but same ingredients) out in the desert... not just on our faces but hat, arms, shirt collars.... kept those little bush flies away..  we used to laugh at all the tourists coming in with their fly veils on  and obviously upset by the flies all over them but we found that the cedar and rosemary creme was fantastic.  It doesn't seem to work so effectively on mosquitoes unfortunately...
