So swaggers,

Once you decide on one of the various drawer systems on the market or you knock up a set in the backyard, what then do you store/carry inside the said drawer system when travelling/camping?

Looked at drawer systems, and decided that they were too inflexible for how we use the back of the 4Runner

Instead, I have 3 heavy canvas bags; one has my tools and compressor in it, the other spare fluids (I have a 24 year old 4Runner...) and the third straps, ropes and shackles.

I can move them around as I need to, which allows me to rebalance the weight in the boot as I need to.

Fridge on one side...
Food in 1 or 2 draws (all 3 are different sizes), first aid kit, drinks, all sorts of Shit depending on the trip...

l have 2 draws , with fridge slides for 2 Engals  . The draws contain  , hopefully all the crap l need to be able to return home from the trip . What ever you reckon you need should be in them , in its most accusable position .

Recovery gear, 12V compressor and tool kit in one.
Small table and fishing chairs in the other.
When we camp the stuff in the drawers all gets crammed into the same drawer and food gets put into the empty drawer.
Fridges sit on top of the drawers.

Single drawer contains tools, spares, first aid and compressor. Compartment above for spare drinks , shelf above usually empty. Solar panel slides in above fridge, top shelf can fit 6 milk crates if needed.

Not the best photo sorry.
We have outback drawers and an olde version MSA fridge drop slide.
On the passenger side wing of the drawers is all out wiring and fuse panel, for the tub. The drivers side I have a Tjm air compressor permanently mounted and ready to use.
In the drawers on the passenger side I permanently keep our campovens, weber BBQ gear, first aid kit, stubby holders, insect repellant, toilet paper and recovery gear. The drivers side I generally keep empty when not camping, just store my ratchet straps and all that. But when camping we have a plastic storage box that fits neat and holds our tinned food. our camp washing machine frame fits neatly on top of the food container.

I honestly wouldn't be without my drawers and having the fridge in there all the time.
Last weekend we went to the butchers got a heap of meat. Then went to the hardware store where we got caught up with friends we hadn't seen in months. With the fridge the meat was kept cold.... Use it more than you can appreciate.
