Ambulance cover Aus wide

Well we have a change here in SA. From the 30th May 2016 if you renew or take out a subscription with SA Ambulance your cover will cover you for nowhere but SA.
It is now recommended that you take out private health insurance or travel insurance if travelling interstate.
I'm glad i have private health but as i live only 24kms from the border life without it would become very expensive for our off the cuff drive interstate for the day taking out travel insurance for it.

Thanks for the info Smarty. I just got Bec to look up our Private Health Insurance and make sure we have the appropriate ambulance cover.

I have cover through my union. Is the same as Victorian Ambulance cover. Been used a few times with no problems.

What ever you do check it out and get it right, it could save you a lot of money. I have ambulance cover through my employer, so I should be ok AUS wide.
