I have a Kipor 2kva generator and was looking for assistance from members to find out where to get it serviced in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

Rarely used over the past 5 years it's now done about 40 hours and I would like to have it professionally serviced.

I just rang a major supplier/ service agent and they want $110 up front deposit for the service. Is this a bit much? That's just the deposit.

Where would other members recommend?

Hi,
Any mower place should have the skills, but it is dead easy, the instructions should be in your manual or find them online.

To service a 4 stroke engine, all that's required is an oil change....and MAYBE a new spark plug..

I'd be happy to take $110 (all up cost ) to do that !

As said, ask a mower shop if you still want to pay for it !

very ezy to do yourself , change the oil , most of the small gennys don't have an oil filter .
buy it a new air filter , as these are the big let down, the foam just disintegrates and gets sucked through .
Last year up at Princess Charlotte 2 Honda's swallowed their air filters in 3 days , just lucky I had fitted a new one to mine before we left and I had the old one and a new one in its box for after the trip, with me,  that got the other camp back up and running.
20h hour oil changes and they will run for years .
