So I've set Mrs scarps and dog up yesterday for what is the first bush camp in our Trackabout with her sister and family. Location - Lumbys Reserve west of Rutherglen on the Murray River.  Sadly I've had to head back to work for the week, but will go back Friday night for the weekend and pack up, before heading back home.

There's a lot to be said for practice makes perfect, but very much realising in the CT world, practice makes easy.  The more you use it, the easier it gets to use.

Got the main tent set up in 10mins, the kitchen awning on in another 15min, then another half an hour to set up all the extra Shit we seem to take:-)  Definitely starting the review and cull list this trip.

Scraps, would be interested in knowing how your family found Lumbys Reserve? We pick up our CT this coming weekend and looking for destinations not far from our home to "test" and likely embarrass ourselves for our first trip

Lumbys not bad, but it's our first time here. Lot's of long grass and river quite high atm.  Somewhere a bit closer for you might be Tocumwal or Cobram. Heaps of easy bush, riverside camping just up the road from you.

One of our favorite spots is turn right down 'Greens Lane' between Koonamoo and Tocumwal River bridge. It should show up on a GPS map.

This pic is from one of our last trips there.

Back at camp for the weekend.  Cod opening tomorrow Sunday 1st December.
Quite a few fishermen out today testing their boats and gear ready for tomorrow.

We also had to move camp the other day as we were told water was being released from the Hume Dam. Packed down and set back up on slightly higher ground in an hour including the shower tent.

Back home safe & sound. Not a bad spot for a bush camp but would suggest with the amount of long grass, scrub and trees in this area, need to be very alert in the summer months for Joe Blakes.

Scarps, we'll have to do some remedial annex work with you mate ;) as a Trackabout owner there are standards we expect.

Jules, anytime you want to wander down to the state with real rugged terrain and big mountains, happy for you to come and show me the ropes:-) or how best to set them.  Plus you might have standards, but let's be honest, Dave and Co will sell a CT to anyone with the $$'s, standards don't come into it!

I understand 3m at Albury Weir Wall.  This was my first trip to this area, but the people I was with said it was at least a metre higher than normal for that time of year.  It easily dropped 600mm over the week Mrs scarps was set up there. We were above Yarrawonga so not sure what impact it had below there.

Thanks Scarps
The water level should be the norm this weekend for the annual fishing comp
