I have an iPhone app that does this.   Works great at night but without the reflective patch on the glass it's hard to see in daylight.

Nice gimmick. I reckon it's something else to clutter up the dash.

I'll keep using the speedo.......

I have my iPhone in a holder mounted on the RHS of the dash in my Hilux with a Speedometer App running. It is linked up to the audio with Bluetooth, and sends an audiable alarm through the stereo when I go over a set limit.

It works well, costs nothing and is neat.

Hey Mark,
You must have been duded when you got that Troll :-[
Mine came with a thing called a speedo ;D ;D

Robin Miller

I looked at them Dave - and couple of other brands , but they had some small issues on a Patrol dash which was sort of rounded making it hard to make them unobtrusive and also in line with vision so close to windscreen.

Then I noticed that when I look thru windscreen you can see a fair section of white bonnet in my car anyway which can give better contrast so a small direct reading speedo placed on dash worked better.
You used to be able to buy these but haven't seen them in a while.

Anyway I had a small obsolete GPS with large speed readout which actually works better.
