Hi
Yeah, yeah it's lazy.
Lets face it, after a weekend away and arriving home late on a Sunday, it's easier and lots quicker to do the drive through auto carwash!
With some of our 4wd's + roof racks, the typical clearance height of 2100mm isn't quite enough.

Any Perth folks know of a car wash with the extra head height?
Tried googling to no avail.

We used to take the Prado with a 2" lift, bigger tyres and a roof rack through the auto car wash in Joondalup, bit smaller than the 200 series, we still squeeze under 2.2m
They are Car Lovers at # 8 the Gateway Edgewater just off of Joondalup drive, haven't been there for a few years and from memory the owner was a naughty boy and may still be in jail. :police:
May pay to call first and check.

Joondalup/Edgewater should be high enough but they don't like dirty cars..........
Why are you a car wash and don't like dirty cars?
There seems to be a car wash with a ramp around Armadale.

I've heard this before.... Some people being told to leave.. the result was next Friday night 20 cars doign a night run in the muddiest hell possible, and turning up there when staff had left, washing their cars making as much mess they could... no idea why they dont want dirty cars...

I like the idea of leaving a muddy 'present'!

Looks like a high clearance carwash is a rarity. Maybe a good idea for a business?

The guy who owned/managed it is in jail from what I heard (I'm not going to go into what for because its hearsay.. but what I heard was not nice)

He was the instigator of the 'dont bring dirty cars here' policy and would stand out the front and watch cars come in, he had NO problems telling you to leave if you had mud on your car, He told me it was a City of Joondalup rule (bollocks)

He also told me I could not vacuum the back of my Navara (which had a draw system/carpet in it) because it was a "commercial vehicle"

I stopped going there for a while, but now he is gone there is a different guy running it who doesn't seem too bothered by much at all. I still tend to go out of hours, but that's because its quiet.

Having said all of that, I have never used the auto wash, I generally use the bays and less and less now because I usually need to clean the camper too and its easier to use the pressure cleaner at home!

I might go there as I do have to clean the car on  my drive way.
