QLD main roads reat areas

Its been a while since we went down south from Townsville to fraser island,just wondering if any one can tell me the free camp sites that the transport dept have in place for over nighters  along the hwy and if any have showers from what i remember theyall had toilets but think if any had showers at all.also is there much road works going on .Last trip a few years ago took for ever from rocky to tincan bay  stopping /starting 30/40 klm speed restrictions and the likes .

Calliope River has Showers and toilets from memory (southside)

Just north of Gin Gin is a large stop with toilets and there is 2 at gympie, one on each side of town. Remember they fill up quick with the grey nomands because they are listed in the free camps book. Also there is one south of Sarina called camila beach about 20 km of the highway.

Main Roads website has the list, and if an RACQ member, they also have a map, and many websites have a list they like ... even freight companies have a good list of truck stops.
