Anyone tried yellow heat shrink on their LEd lights ?

Having stayed a couple of nights at places that were heavy with night time bugs, I tried out a small 'yellow' bar of LED lights and it worked well.

I'd like some more though..and rather than spend money on some more bars, I have some white ones spare and wondered if yellow heat shrink would do the same job..anyone tried it ?

Mark, my white LEDs don't seem to attract too many bugs.  Did you have some white LEDs going at the same time as your yellow ones?  Be interested in hearing your comparisons.

See if you can test how translucent the heat shrink is. Not sure if this has been done very often and I am interested to see if it works

Try yellow cellofane and clear heat shrink maybe

There was a very noticable difference. In places very heavy with bugs, the yellow bar worked a treat. I tested the 2 out.

Thanks Mark for the feedback, that is the first time I have read where somebody had actually compared the two LED colours side by side.  Most other comments I've read where based upon pure conjecture.

When you buy some more yellow LEDs, would you mind posting a link?  Might be good to have an alternative light source under the annex for nights when the bugs are out in force.

Have used yellow LEDs outside and in the annex for a few years because they don't attract bugs. And red LEDs inside so you don't wake anyone up during the night.

KB, looking at buying some white and yellow lights from Korrs. Will let you know but then again it's so cold here there are no bugs.
