I stumbled upon this add when looking for something different.

The bit which I found interesting was this line in the Add:
" I should know, I imported 60 of the toughest looking, best priced Chinese Campers that sold like hot cakes and had nothing but drama with everyone of them. I refuse to own or sell another Chinese Camper Trailer. "

This CT looks like the paint job isn't finished yet...

Is it just me or are the wheels a long way back?  What would be the tow ball weight?

I really like forward fold campers but comparing this to the modcon campers is a chalk & cheese comparo.

That is one very plain looking camper trailer and i certainly can't see the $22k in it, although it's good to see
a home grown product. Could do with a cosmetic update.. ;D

I bought a very basic soft floor way back in 1992 ( a Dingo ) and it looked like a fully blinged Trackabout compared to that thing.....

Fair dinkum, if that's the best we can make, no wonder we're buying chinese !!!!!

Personally i like to concept of it, just needs finishing off by the look of it, not sure if its worth the 22k though
All my life, I thought air was free...until I bought a bag of chips

I can't remember the formula for working out where the axle will be on a trailer but when I made our boat trailer years ago I remember there was a tolerance for how far back the axle can be over the length of the trailer. This one appears to be way too far to the rear.
A friend of mine who used to own Cape York Trailers (sadly no longer) told me a good rule of thumb is that the ball weight should never exceed 10% ov the trailer weight,
To exceed 10% is very unsafe for towing.
Eg 1200 kg trailer should not exceed 120kgs at the ball weight.  Those of you that have managed to weigh your ball weight would be much less than 10%.
This gumtree trailer would be around 1000 kgs at a guess but I bet my left one that it is a lot more than 100kgs at the ball.

with the tent folded, it won't appear to be so front-heavy

Opps,
We nay need to be careful, as the link now says "Sorry, no longer available".
Can only mean 1 of 2 things has happened.
1. someone bought it and will be on here soon looking for advice on how to make it look a bit better.
2. The seller has read the above.

I think it would be a good thing for an Aussie made cost reduced camper like that to be sold, just a bit unfortunate how this one looked I think.

Great concept, just the execution is a bit average.  Hopefully they improve the finish of the product.

As for wheel set back and tow ball weight.  Probably not much worse than a normal 7X4 camper with a 2 metre drawbar filled with a huge tool box, spare, jerry cans, gas bottles, bike racks, etc.

At least it would be easy to reverse for beginners!
