I have a small 35L Waeco fridge (model escapes me right now but will post later) that has heat & cool function. After our last trip out I noticed it was barely keeping the contents above room temp, let alone cold like it used to. We only use it for the essentials (milk, butter etc) so its not under a great load.

Broad question, but would anyone have any idea why it would suddenly have this fault? I'm guessing perhaps thermostat but really is not even an educated guess!!

Any suggestions would be appreciated, as not too keen on shelling out for a new one after just buying my first CT!!

This sounds like a thermocooler which uses a eutectic plate and fan blowing air onto it from outside. If so this will not have a thermostat and will only cool I think upto 25 degrees below ambient temperature. It's not a fridge but just a cooler. I don't think you will have much choice especially if you are using it at a milk fridge. Really nothing you can do. Sorry for the less than wanted response
Cheers

Check the cooling fan on the outside if there is one and make sure she is blowing well and not blocked

Cheers for the quick responses. I think it is as Toy said, a cooler rather than fridge. Guess I'm up for a new one unless I can fit my bar fridge in the CT :)

It is the same as this, sad to see how cheap this is now considering what I paid years ago..

That ad is very cheeky calling it a fridge. In reality they only work inside the car while the air con is running. And what else would you expect for the $? Cheapest compressor (waeco) fridge is almost 3times the price of the dearest cooler. BIL has one, its OK for cooling drinks for road trips but not food storage. Hopefully Santa brought you some winning scratch it tickets or donations from generous relatives who ran out of time to get you a gift.
