Looking at going up to Teewah beach for the weekend. Does anybody know how eroded the beach is after the weather we've experienced over the last week?

bnk08, I'm heading up to teewah on Friday for a weekend with my mates and was wondering the same thing. I tried calling DERM for an update as the latest conditions report is over a week old - no luck so far.

Hopefully someone can help us out with some info.

I'm finding it hard to get any info. I'm concerned about the coffee rock and access at the cuttings.

I was at Inskip last weekend and the beach had copped a hiding then. The last few days have been real bad. Try Rainbow Beach Tackle or the Ice Works, they'll let you know.

With enough horse power, sheer ignorance and a total lack of respect for your vehicle, you'll get through....

I was up there last weekend.

The swell had picked up dramatically during the week so things may have changed a little.

The cuttings are fine, infact they're pretty good. Teewah Beach was a pretty easy run but there was abit of a landslip about 1.5km's south of the camping area that was catching a fair few drivers out.

This was a young bloke in a Navarra that got caught out when we were coming back from Rainbow.

Prado trying to pull him out.........the suction from the wetsand was very strong.

Prado and Cruiser pulling the Navarra out.

And this was Rainbow at Mid tide on the way back from Yidnee Rocks on the southern side of Rainbow Beach.......no fun getting caught in here.

I reckon the Council may have had a machine up clearing the slide this week, in any event its been pretty dry the last few days and the swell has probably washed it away.

There is only one small bit of coffee rock after third cutting but its no problems at all.

Should be a good weekend up there this weekend........I think it may be a long weekend for Maroochydore, so there may be a few people up there.

Cheers Nomad.

Sorry the photos are small. I will try and reload latter. The Gallery is being a bit tempremental.

I've just spoken with a bloke from the Rainbow Beach tackle shop. He said the beach had coped a bit of a hiding over the last few days but there was still a decent amount of beach to drive on at low tide.
