Fun Police

I looked at the whole idea of under floor insulation and was turned off it by a builder friend who had said that it traps moisture and can possibly encourage dry rot in the bottom of the boards.

That was enough for me not to do it.
You can't spell 'funeral' without 'fun', nor 'manslaughter' without 'laughter'

If you have a timber floor make sure you use the spray on foam as hiding any timber under loose insulation is asking for termites by virtue that the insulated area is no longer under scrutiny. Not sure but I'd reckon the foam is toxic to bugs so added protection.

Anyone else's thoughts?

Interesting theory
I had the sub floor sprayed and it cost heaps only to have the summer rain wash it all away. Insurance company covered it and resprayed again. At least you can pull the wool away to see underneath. I had one quote of $5600 for a 23m home vs batts $400.
