Hi,

I am looking at a 12 x 15 cabin tent. We have been looking at the Oztrail and Outdoor connection 12 x 15's. Can not find any great detail or reviews on them.

Has anyone owned or currently own one of these, or has another brand of 12 x 15 cabin tent in canvas that they would recommend.
I am not interested in a camper as I have the room to carry the large tent.

Thanks

Whereabouts are you from Shane? We have one that we would like to get rid of but if you are not in Adelaide it would be too expensive to ship interstate. Ours is the last of the proper canvas. I can provide more info if interested.

I also have one I should sell. We used the OZtrail one for a few years but for us it has now been superseded by the camper trailer. I couldn't criticise it, a very comfortable tent for three or four or even five people, high, dry and dark. We much prefer canvas tents over nylon tents.

Hi Shane,

Not a cabin tent, but we have this:

Oztrail Tourer 9+. We've had it for a number of years now, and it's fantastic. Still gets regular use. Canvas is still in great condition, waterproof, stitching all good, etc. I wouldn't hesitate to buy an Oztrail canvas tent.

Having looked at the Outdoor Connection tents, I like them too. They do a touring tent like ours, but it's got a number of subtle, but very nice, modifications. If I was buying again, I'd probably buy the Outdoor Connections one. So if you're comparing those two brands, see if you can have a crawl over one of each actually set up - you might fond that one has some features/changes/designs that you really appreciate.

Long story short, I don't think you could go wrong with either. My experience is just with the Oztrail though, and I'd recommend it based solely on the great run we've had with ours.

Cheers!
Matto :)
(Who still has an Oztrail nylon dome tent in the bottom of the laundry cupboard. I think I got it when I was 16. It's still in prefect shape :D )

I have one for Sale and you won't get much better than Southern Cross Canvas........Floor space is 3mtrs x 5mtrs with a very large awning. Have a look and see if it suits you.....

Thanks for the reply's.

The tents that I am looking at are around the $1000 mark, so I am not really looking for a second hand one when they are that cheap for a new one.

Really just looking for info as per my first post.

Hi Teabag
Just looked at the tent you have for sale.  What size does that tent fold down to for storage when travelling.

The same as all those touring tents. The bag is 1m x 1m x 15cm........It folds down into the same size bag as my smaller Southern Cross Touring Tent which only has one centre pole.....They have all the fold down dimensions on the web site....

There a little awning that goes over the front, it's just folded back in the pic.
It's all there the canvas is good, one zip needs a repair that's all.
