drawbar toolbox idea's

As the heading sugests i'm chasing ideas for a toolbox for the drawbar. i currently have the 200x200 steel pole carrier with a battery cradle on top. I would like to have that built into the toolbox and add another battery cradle. not sure on what shape to go with, i dont even know what i'll put in there, at this stage it will just be the coleman shower, 2 batts and fuse panel and water pump for front tank.
Any ideas would be good or pros and cons of different sizes/shapes of boxes, pics would be good to.

Yep  .

I think you've got a bunch of options. You can pick up an alloy or steel box to mount in front of the pole carrier, or get something custom made that wraps around the carrier, or incorporates it.

It is surprising how much one can carry, so the bigger the box the more shyte you'll have. It's one of natures laws. A lockabvle front box is invaluable I reckon.

Have you got a stone guard? If not, consider how you'll mount that next, as with a box closer to the tug you will get more rocks thrown back at it.

Heres my set up on the Hawk..along with the twin gas bottles
Cost was $249.00 with delivery
460 mm High  (430 mm actual depth)
370 mm opening (front to back)
800 mm Wide at rear
400 mm Wide at front

If it's any use to you, have a dig back through the posts in the Camper section for "Bullfrogs Trackabout" , Sorry, no good with links etc. That is what i did to the front of my Trackabout if it fits with your plans.

no stone gaurd yet but will defo be getting one. not real keen on putting a box in front of the pole carrier, i would probably rather get a box built over the pole carrier so batterys and pumps and stuff is nice and neat and all in one box locked up with a solar panel on the lid.  i was thinking full width at the back 1710mm, out 400ish then angle it across to the front which would be around 900ish, 500ish high at the back out to the 400ish mark then sloped down to the front of the box. I doubt anyone will understand that but i can see it in my head.

sort of what i'm looking for bullfrog and sort of like john's, if they were merged into one with a few changes it would be exactly what i'm thinking of . i'm still open to suggestions and reasons why and why not to do particular things.

Since you already have the pole carrier, you could do something like Jetcrew has on his Trackabout:

Alternatively, I know the big box that Lifestyle use has an integrated pole carrier. Personally, I don't really like it because the floor of the box isn't flat, but each to their own.

This is what I did to mine ....  1500x550x800
Just be careful as cheap pressed or rivetted boxes are fine for on-road but off-road will fall apart.
mine as the plain box 2.5mm CB was $600 front door addition and locks $200

contents:
2x gas bottle
poles and fishing
9mx5m tarp
3x chairs
folding table 1500mm long
assorted bits and pieces
solar panel
basically all my camping stuff
All I do to go camping is grab food /clothes and frig and hookup the CT. I never unpack.

well i'm going to buy a toolbox instead of getting one made now, the engineer said it would be around $2200 for what i wanted, buggar that.
