Need your help please.  My mind had gone numb with a few Easter beverages.  What's the camp grounds name?

It's up Imbil - Kenilwoth way.  It's $50 a night.  It's supposed to be very private campsites.  You can take the dog.  They have a website that I recall - night photos of a camp kitchen and young folk??  Someone from here went there not so long ago, but I can't find a trip report alas.  I'm thinking it starts with an 'E', but can't find the link I thought I'd saved.  Does this ring any bells with anyone?  Hilarious to know we've got it on the list as "the $50 one".

And while you are reading this ...

Has anyone been to Kenilworth Homestead?  I haven't found much info on the net (trip reports etc).  Interested to know what it's like.  There is one trip report on this site, but it's mainly of the campground ... hoping for a bit more info and photos.

Has anyone been to GlenOak Farmstay @ Kenilworth?  Website has shut down and I can only find one report on the place (it's on the website).  We've been given permission to stay there, but I can't find any more info on it.  Would like a few photos or a report before we head out there.

Thanks

Thanks Nomad.

All these reports is making the decision harder.  Guess where we go will be determined by who has a spot for us first.   ;D  I love it when we don't have to make the decision!

Very good mate of mine used to work at Kenilworth Homestead...could tell you all sorts of stories... ;D

But mainly, shouldn't be too bad a place to stay. I can ask for further details on the place if you like.

Thanks Duchess.  Only if you want to ... all stories welcomed!   ;D

We are hoping that you can camp along the creek (preferred) rather than in some designated tent city camp ground (not preferred).  I'll email them directly though and ask.  Just thought there are probably enough members here that might have camped there to give me a "feel for the place" so to speak.

You know how we love our secluded bush camps, where the only ones bothering us ... Is Us.

Kenilworth homestead had 3000 people camped in there over Easter we were at amamoor and went for a drive on Saturday down that way. Not sure on the facilities down there but they would of got a good work out with that many people in there

Eeeewww.......................thats way to many people for there......................Noosa North Shore also had camping permits end on Saturday morning.

I went to Wolvi and rode an old farm bike around a nice hilly farm and looked at cows...we went for a drive to Rainbow on Saturday it was packed.........inskip would have been mayhem.

Cars were pouring around rainbow rocks in the surf on a mid tide it was that busy.

Cheers

Whilst at Gordon Country the weekend before Easter, people were coming in as we were leaving.  The population doubled as we left.  When paying our fees, the nice lady there said they usually get 3000 camping for the Easter week.  3000 @ $13 (because of course they are all Adults) x Min 4 nights (because it's Easter) = Very nice income for the campground owner!  I doubt that many campers only did the 4 nights though ... they were moving in and setting up elaborate campsites ...

I think it's great that we can support our own area in such a way.  I hear on the news tonight, that the GC is very happy with their Easter weekend profits.  Rather busy indeed.

I wonder what the insurances cost for places like that?  Must be worth it in the long run. **Kit_e wistfully dreams of owning such a place**
