Hey Guys,

Looking for some help.  We have an adventure trailer - which has a king size foam matress.  We find it quite comfortable normally - say up to 2 weeks.

We are starting to plan our big trip (2 years) and am wondering if an eggshell cover "thingy" would help to improve comfort?

Anyone have first hand knowledge of these on a foam mattress? - also any where online we could get one - no one has them in kalgoorlie!!

Any other tips to help improve a foam mattress?

Cheers,

Welchy

We use one at home on our innerspring, which  is very comfortable.
I think we got ours from BigW or Kmart

do you think it would make a difference on a foam mattress?
how thick is it? - this matters on an adventure as the bed folds in half.  ;D

How much was it?

Hi,

I have the standard 100mm foam mattress in my Cub Escape, I have added a 40mm foam egg shell on top of the mattress  with a wool overlay on the top.

This is VERY comfortable.

I dont think our mattress would even be 100mm!!  ;D

I just have to be carefull how much extra height i add otherwisei might not be able to get it closed!

When you buy it, it fits in a bag smaller than a Coles shopping bag (don't try and get it back in  ;D ;D)
It is only about 20mm uncompressed. I think it was $50.
Don't know how it would go on foam mattress, unless it was a really hard mattress then it would soften it a bit

A friend of ours bought his from Clark Rubber.  I noticed they have a website for online purchases.

They do vary.  Our mate bought a fairly heavy one, but there were cheaper, lighter versions in store.

We found our foam mattress wasn't quite enough, and bought an egg shell overlay as a trial - and it works a treat.  We got it from BigW cost $80 I think??
If at first you don't succeed...do it your wife's way! :P

We have the same. The woolen overlay helps to keep the foam cooler on hot nights. :cup:
Cheers Glenn
