Ive stayed at both caravan parks in Halls gap, both are fine, but some bush camping might be the go too.  Also if you have kids the wildlife park just out of halls gap is great.

Thanks Heath I'm chasing some bush camping if we can find somewhere really nice and relaxing in the grampians I'm sure there is having seen some of the pic from my swaggers trips I was wondering if some one can tell me what this camp spot is called and is it a nice spot

I havent camped there, and dont have that campsite on my map, but I have driven through there, and its a nice spot.  to be honest I dont think there are many spots you can go wrong in the grampains. To the norther/wesern end of phillip island track,(not far from your location) used to be a great bush camp. not sure if its stiull tehre or not. One afternoon sitting quietly by the fire, having a referesher, an emu walked right into my campsite

Try the camp ground at Buchan Caves.  Not far from Lakes Entrance.  Cheap quality powered and unpowered sites.

we stayed twice this year at Lake Fyans van park in Grampians..
cheap and the largest parma's I've ever seen..

central to zoo, alpaca farm, halls gap for the dusk roo feed, wineries, and the kids sat there at night hand feeding possums.

trying to remember the camp site down near cape liptrap, it is fairly close to wilsons prom and I loved it when I stayed there, very basic but great feel.

Cheers Heath I was reading about a camp ground called boreong I think it's along the Phillip island track suppose to be good I guess I'm looking for a bush camp next to a creek if such s thing exists coming from central qld we don't have to many of those types of spots and I know kids would love it cheers

GLC, was that Bear Gully?  I used to go there as a kid in the late 70s.  We used to bog the EH on the sandy access track every time.

It's probably been sealed, taking all of the fun out of it.

Cheers

Yeah that would be Bear Gully. Great spot in amongs the ti-trees, metres to the beach and great views across Waratah Bay to the Prom. Take in your water, supplies etc. Gets busy in peak periods tho.

JB- road in still unsealed. Would have been fun getting the EH in there at times! I've seen that track in pretty rough shape!

Watto, Whiters holiday village is a good park in Lakes Entrance. Right in town and close to the beach and good sites with clean facilities
