Gents, i scored some castrol RX super 20L drums over the weekend, and was going to do a oil change on my hilux but then i realised how am i going to transfer the oil into the car. (Particularly at the height, and i can't get close to it).

Can anyone recommend me a oil change pump (under $100) that they can recommend, or how you manage your oil changes.

I buy my oil in 10lt drums...they are usually supplied with a bung at the base( not sure your's is the same) which is removed and replaced with a tap that is found on underside of the main lid...I then fill a 1lt bottle and the top the engine up that way.

Hi,
doesn't your 20L drum have a bung screwed into the lower part of the side?

A tap usually screws in there and you take out what you need into a jug or similar.

cheers

I have a 20lt drum pump, not sure what I paid now but think it was around $50-$60. Came from Super Cheap.
Works well.

You can get cheaper ones than these but remember you get what you pay for.
I use these, only to pump oil into a large jug for engine oil. Were these are great is for gearbox and diff oils.
Available in .5 and 1 litre per pump.

I use standard measure glass oil fill bottles 1 ltr and 500ml (used to be a common sight years ago at servos) and decant from the bigger drum!
