G'day, we are heading to Eden at Christmas time for 3 weeks with our camper trailer and boat, just wondering if anyone has been and what sort of family activities are there apart from fishing (wife, son 8, daughter 6) I have heard there is a marine activity centre for kids that we have booked in for a couple of days

Cheers Mick

Ahh great spot, I grew up there and my family still live down there.

Can recommend heading out to the Boydtown pub for a quiet afternoon beer and a swim. Take a footy so the kids can kick it around on the grass out the front while you enjoy a beer.

Do the typical tourist thing and check out the whale museum (everyone one does) and its worth it.

Spend a day out around Greencape. Get to the Lighthouse, stop in at Kiah whaling station a have a swim, then head out to Fisheries beach and the Navy wharf.

Go out on the Cat Balou whale watching.

Head to Merimbula for a day, have lunch, let the missis go shopping & go for a swim.

Head to Tathra for a day trip, also another great pub for a beer.

Check out Pambula river mouth and have a BBQ and a swim.

There is plenty to do, and heaps of little spots to check out! If you see a silver 100series getting around give me a wave!

Cheers

Agree with the previous poster.  In addition a drive to Bermagui along the back road from Tathra is good, also you could head to Tilba for a look.  A trip to the bega cheese factory, then to Bemboka for a pie and back to Eden via Candello.

There is a natural rock slide out of Bega as well can't remember what's it called.

Been to that rock slide years ago....its great

That rock slide was fantastic we used to frequent it in the early 90's.

Head inland for a drive through the hills.  There is some nice scenery and some lovely state forests.  It can get a bit tricky in the wet too.

We go every year, and will be again this coming January. Most things have been covered by the posters above, there are so many places to go and see. The thing we like about it is you get the beach and the fishing without the huge crowds of some other places. If your into walking try the Mt Imlay, definitely worth the effort, Nethercote falls is fantastic (if you can find the place) and a trip to the Candelo market.

I'll be there too, head south to the light house at green cape, and Bittangabee bay.  Easy to spend a day in that area.  X2 for the whale museum.

Whereabouts do ou guys stay?  I'm at twofolds bay.

I have not been to the Pinnacles.......will note that one, but have put the yak on Bittangabee bay, caught nice flathead. The camp ground was a bit shaded from memory, but nice. We are planning a revisit next year.
