That looks good.

The most serious mistake I made in selling it was in not realising that most of the cookers are not low pressure.  >:D

Well its fitted, and fitted back on the trailer...  Very happy with the result. Test boiled the billy and did it in quick time.

While at it, heres a free plug + a photo of the man himself - Kiwi (unknown as Michael!) from Tru Blu thats been doing the work who has just got his accrediation..


Will get some better photos once the rain stops in 6mths... :(

You know, all week I've been thinking "I need to take some pictures of the camper for someone. Something to do with the kitchen. Why would I need to take a photo of the kitchen?". Half way home from work, the penny dropped - I promised you some photos of the BBQ plate! Again, my apologies. Without further ado:









Apologies for the lack of light and grainy pictures, but I think you get the picture. It's a good width, needs to be a little shorter to sit on the one burner, or a little longer to go across both of them. Ribbed on one side, flat on the other. Small enough that the cast iron frypan can share the stove with it if you're doing two things at once. Just normal cast iron - no idea where we got it from, probably the local camping shop, or BCF. We use it a few times a day whenever we're camping - it's really handy.

It's good - we use it every time we're away. Oil it and pack it away in a plastic-hessian bag. Pretty sure it came from BCF. If not there, it would have been one of the independent camping shops in town. But I'm 90% sure it was BCF.

Will be using the Lido for light stuff, boiling water, vegies, toast etc.
Have a Weber Q for the meat etc.

Not massively heavy, but heavy none the less. Slides very easily.
There are only the 2 of us so not much to pack.
It should handle all food items apart from those in the eski / fridge.
Wood is my forte, can't weld / work with metal for nuts.

It's cast iron, so it gets better with age. You do need to season them, but it's not as big a deal as it is with a camp oven. The more you season it, the more non-stick it will get.

All we did was scrub it with some detergent (to get the waxy coating off), then just heat it up on the cooktop and rub a lot of oil into it. Do one side reasonably heavily, turn the gas off and let it cool, soaking the oil in. Wipe off any excess oil once cool. Then flip it over, and do the same thing to the other side. Before you put it away, just a light coating of oil on both sides to keep it rust-free.

We've got a cast-iron frypan, and did much the same to it.

We store ours in one of the plasticky-hessian bags, like you buy firewood from Bunnings in. Stops everything in the kitchen box from getting oily/greasey/ash-covered.

It's good - you know you want one...  ;D

I ended up getting a lido junior for my access door.

Lido and tudor are great little stoves and last forever.

both boil the billy quickly,

I have the tudor in internal and the lido for the external access door.

I just put a 400x200 cast grill plate and have a similar griddle and both fit in a thin shelf under stove.
