Same. We use a Sunbeam as well and it has been great for all the resons mentioned already. Just got to watch the moisture when doing the *sucky* thing :-*

We have a sunbeam it works a treat.  I usually try and freeze things a bit before sealing to stop the moisture issue.

Ben...

has anyone found a online place that sells good priced cryovac bags for the sunbeam units?

I have not looked for them yet but when Aldi has them on sale their rolls, that you can make bags to suit work fine with the sunbeam unit.

Just had a quick look on ebay they have quite a few that they claim can be used in any machine.  Prices vary but average is $43 for 100 bags not sure how that compares to sunbeam costs.

We have an eBay one and it is fabulous. Currently use it with bags and cannisters at home, though will be bagging meat and pre-prepared food for camping.

OK  cryovac is not just for food , what else can you use it for     ???
Spare parts  fuel filters , oil filters , bearings , you want to keep it clean in transit use the cryo to sael it  it dosent have to be just food  dose it ?   In the middle of outthere  a bearing goes west , out with the grease packed cryo packed bearing put it in & off you go !! so much easyer  .
You can go your own way . Treg Up & Make Dust

We have the Aldi vacuum sealer and have found it great 8) Had it for almost a year and been through three rolls plus twenty of the packets.
So long as you have tried your best, you should have no regrets.

I've got a sunbeam food saver and have had no problems.  If you are worried about sucking liquid into the machine, put paper towel over the product or better yet ... freeze the product first.  The instruction book gives you great advise about what to do or not to do.  I second the notion to think outside the instruction book.  It's also great for keeping important papers dry / matches / and all manner of other assorted things.  You can also use the original packaging to reseal your product (like Chippies / bickies / Nobby's privates / rice / bread / etc).  I reseal everything in it's original packaging if it's possible but don't always use it to remove the air.

4926martin on ebay.com.au  is who we bought our machine from.
Some good prices here compared to Cairns pricing.
