, I thought I better check on any caravan towing speed limits (basically, there are none!)

Found this page which sums it all up https://www.4wda.com.au/caravan-towing-speed-limits-australia/, but had to have a wonder about Tas:

In Tasmania, caravans must abide by the speed limit of the road as long as it is safe to do so. The sign posted speed limit on major highways is typically 100 or 110 kilometres an hour. If you are travelling on an unsealed road, the maximum permissible speed limit is 80 kilometres an hour.

The above rule only applies to drivers towing a caravan with its GVM weight under 12 tonnes

Not sure what you're supposed to do if your caravan weighs more than 12t!

Here are some action photos from the combined emergency services boating workshop held over the weekend 21st and 22nd February. The event was hosted by our Mallacoota SES unit.
The weekend took an unexpected twist when our unit was asked to assist in an incident in which a runaway caravan rolled down an embankment landing in the water
