Rear Fold Hard Floor - advice needed

Hi all,
Hoping to get some advice on the best type of seals to use to replace the ones on our second hand  (2014) rear fold hard floor, the first time we took it out a huge storm came through, and it held up like a champion, not a single drop got in when we were sleeping, but we've had it packed up and more rain came before we could get a tarp over it and it's wet the mattress and floor, looks to be coming in at rear where it folds down, there's rust on both sides so it's obviously been a long standing issue, we will cover with a tarp in future, but it's got me thinking same thing would happen when driving and not having any cover on it! All the toolboxes and fridge slide box stay 100% dry though
also one more question, do all rear fold hard floors have a gap where it folds out, or is it a design flaw as ours was custom made?

You can get those seals from Clark Rubber. They are called "Pinch Weld" seals and come in various profiles and sizes.

The gap is usually covered by a piece of material.

In the second pic it kinder looks like there could have been a bit of metal on metal rubbing, The hinge slightly out of alingement maybe to cause a bit of rust there .. As to the gap in the fold down,  Big green shed for some concrete expansion gap foam rubber  or this stuff

Yes was thinking Clark rubber might be the go, need to address it before the rust gets really bad!
A fair bit of water was in there.
Wasn't sure if the gap was a design flaw or if it's pretty standard on rear folds, it's our first camper trailer so had no idea really haha, will look into some type of material to cover the gap
Spare Tyre is on back so maybe that has caused misalignment? Rust is on both sides
Will replace all seals I think and see how we go
It had a heavy duty boat loader on it too, but we removed it, to save weight when not needed.
Apart from that, absolutely love our camper
We should have had it covered up!

I'd invest in a mattress cover/bag to keep the water off the bed.
Not just because of the leak,
You need to be able to pack the trailer up and continue travelling.
No matter the weather at the time.
Even if the canvas is wet, there's nothing like a dry bed at the end of the day.

I just ordered a waterproof mattress protector a few days ago, before I even discovered the leak
Definitely agree, a dry bed is essential 🌧

Clark Rubber is poison expensive these days... try Carac or any camper trailer place.
