Emptying them is mind over matter IMO...it's not the nicest job in the world, but it ain't that bad either I reckon. Kind of reminds me of changing babies nappies, just get the job done and don't make a huge fuss about it, over thinking the job makes it seem worse then it really is.

We've got a Porta Potti that I got from the in-laws who had never used it, and we've carried it about for about 4 years and never used it.

I like the idea of the Jimmy's Thunderbox, and line it with something biodegradable, so when you leave camp you just bury everything nice and deep.  Also an advocate for burning toilet paper, as it leaves less behind.

The video that did the rounds a while back of people chucking at the dunno point near Birdsville was enough for us to use a shovel
