Hi swaggers,
with my intended Fraser Island trip in October in serious planning mode. The thought of renting a camper trailer has come to mind.
Do you know of any good trailers or places that hire that will allow a Fraser Island trip?
Have seen a few on line, but thought you all might have some insider knowledge.
I will be hiring for 2 weeks on the island. Hybrid van might be good too. I will be driving up from Melbourne so picking it up around Brisbane makes sense. Guess I can travel further to pick up trailer if the deals good.

Please let me know your thoughts
Cheers

These guys do camper trailer hire, not a hybrid though, just hard floor http://www.seqcampers.com.au/off-road-camper-hire.aspx  they are at the Bribie Island turn off, so on the run North just after leaving Brisbane. For the cost of renting a trailer and the additional cost of getting it on the barge to Fraser, aswell as your camping fee, it wouldn't surprise me if you couldn't rent a house for not much more on the island

Have not used them but have seen a lot of them on Fraser ..  These guys also do the RHINO MAX  Hybrids http://www.campmountaincampers.com.au/discovery.html ....

seem to have a fairly good inventory of gear . Vehicles included for hire .. Just depends on how fat your wallet is .
As Mal said,  camper and deposit would be at least $2500 +  for ten nights, you can get a unit that sleeps 5 at Happy valley for $160 pn + $300 bond   https://www.stayz.com.au/accommodation/qld/fraser-coast/fraser-island/21425?k_clickid=_kenshoo_clickid_&ksid=cr21759222&ksprof_id=403&ksaffcode=21759222&ksdevice=c&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI-pL_-cuS1gIVjwYqCh39kgAUEAAYASAAEgLYcfD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=CMuQ-fvLktYCFcSXvAodoswHSQ
