Media reports show lots of rain up in the Kimberly, likely to affect our travels at all?

Using my crystal ball  ;D

I really dont think it will be a big wet. We copped over 200mm in 2 days here and now have sunshine.

The weather should settle back down to a normal wet and all systems go.

Then again  ;D

Just remember Mark the last few wet seasons have been below average. We still have at least 2 1/2  to 3 months of the wet to go. One good cyclone in the Kimberly region can dump a lot of water.
We have had just above the average for December and January here in Maningrida but they have had a lot more inland. Let's hope it good for you guys though.

Yes no one can predict what will happen.

Interesting figures from last wet season.

Darwin 'wet season' records

2010-11: 2918.4mm
1997-98: 2499.4mm
2016-17: 2484.4mm

As May 1 marks the official start of the 'dry season', the 2016-2017 wet season finished in Darwin with 2484.4 millimetres rainfall - well above the average of 1,700mm since records began in 1941.

Here at Peppi, this years wet season is well down on last years. 2016 / 2017 we were flooded in by mid December 2016. This year it was only 2 weeks ago we were locked in.

Not even the best weather forecasters can predict what will happen in the next 2 months, just like fishing  ;D ;D anything can happen.

And this is the reason to be careful driving through floodwater, your car might not be likely to be washed off the road, but if there is no road it's a different story. I used to think depth markers etc were fine to go by, but if I can't actually see the road then it is a different story.

If I recall correctly they have not long finished an upgrade of the Logue River  Bridge which I think figures in this video. Hope it is still there.

callmejoe

They are working on it a present. Logue bridge still there. But alot around it has moved. Most of the work was done last yrs, back then it was showing signs it wasnt going to hold up. Unfortunately there was also at least 5 other spot requiring alot of attention. I'm just hoping its open tomorrow so I can head back.
It was open today at 11am an what a mad rush, from all the car drivers.
But as you turn left at Roebuck sth bound onto the Roebuck plain  the 1st water crossings is at easy 500mm,  not sure why they opened that, but it was. Alot of people still stuck in Roebuck or Broome...
Life's wasn't meant to be fair.
Well so I've been told. ..
