So I picked up a great deal on an MSA dropslide on ebay (thanks Bird)...

and I thought to myself... "a cage would be great to go around that, to make packing the back of the cruiser easier, tidier and more organised".

Checking online...

MSA branded cage is around $449

Dunn & Watson have a range, but the biggest is $300 and not wide enough anyway (and way over in height and length)

Can someone tell my why a metal pet crate for like $40, some fencing wire and zipties plus a hacksaw to "customise" the sizing isn't a (considerably) cheaper solution?

Old screen doors are great for that..

Its like Boats, mention camping/4wd and the price adds 2x zeros.

Same for bikes too. (but you discovered that)

I have a couple of pet crates at home in various sizes from when Tucker was smaller... I see a XMAS project at the in-laws.

A couple of bits of 8mm ply will do the job too, if you just want it around the sides.
(Probably not so good if you want to cover the top as well, as it would effect the ventilation.)
If you want to get fancy you can glue some bootliner to it to match your drawers.

bit of this stuff pete used in his trailer add some cage wire, zip ties and duct tape would work

success!

A visit to the big green shed and $83.65 later...

(ok... ok... some bending and cutting was required)

Bunnings
3 x garden mesh 900x600 - $17.95 each
2 x steel angle 900x32 - $6.95 each
1 x packet 100 cable ties - $6.95

Clark Rubber
2 x meters Pinchweld - $7.95 pm

Yes... I could probably have picked up most of it cheaper online if I'd wanted to take the time... and I know I have 1,000's of cable ties at home...

I always wondered how I could use the used space around and over the fridge.
Just found the answer.
Great work  :cup:
