Hi just hoping I could get some help/opinions on what type / brand Thermos to buy for a gift.
There are so many cheap ones out there these days. Obviously I want a brand that will obviously keep the coffee/water really hot whilst on the road.
Thanks in advance for your replies

Buy a Thermos ..................... that is the original name of the product that kept stuff hot/cold.  Anything else is just a vacuum flask I guess.

What I can't find is a glass lined one, the stainless steel ones don't seem to work as well.

Don't laugh but my family swears by "Nissan" thermos (they are made by Thermos and have nothing to do with Nissan cars).

They are just about unbreakable and are well insulated. It was actually a NT tour operator that originally suggested them to my parents.

They are a bit pricy but I doubt you'd ever have to replace it (apparently the tour operator had a pile of them that were all dented and looked like they had spent the last ten years rolling around in the back of a ute but still kept the coffee hot of the paying guests).

If it has a glass tube, get a Thermos. I got years out of a small 2 cup one in a plastic case. If you want a stainless one, you can't beat the good old fashioned Stanley green one. The price makes you cough a bit, but you will never buy another in your lifetime.

Over the years have had quite a few stainless type thermos, at the moment have a Rays "wild country" been one of the better ones. Use it everyday cost about $30.

Didn't realise when I started this thread that I would inherit my Dads after he passed away. The brand is an Arcosteel and it would be at least 30 years old I am guessing by the look of it. It is the best thing, keeps so hot for the whole day out. Winning :):):)
