No not a sales pitch i'm just looking at insurance for my new camper and was wondering who you all currently use and what you think of them? Are there any front runners or ones to avoid when it comes to camper insurance?

I am with CIL, can't fault them and very helpful.

Whoever you insure with, make sure they cover annex and canvas add on. A few don't cover or you need to pay a further premium.

I was with QBE. Had to make a claim and they were a PITA.
Took over 4 months for them to process the claim and pay up.

Mate, approach your current insurer first... Most companies offer multi policy discounts.

We were with CIL, but then when they decided to not cover damage done by falling branches, so we swapped to RACV. When the insurance is due I am thinking of seeing what Club 4X4 offer in relation to RACV. We found TCIS more costly but good coverage.

We are with CIL.  Fortunately we have never had to make a claim so no idea what they are like when you have to

CIL.
2 claims in 4 years.
First was theft of 2k + worth of gear out of the storage tub.
Second was ripped canvas during a windstorm.
On both occasions I hardly did anything other than put in the claim then arrange repair/ replacement items. Too easy!

Suggest you over insure on the contents though. Luckily I paid for an extra thousand on top of  the included thousand. Surprising how much you have in a camper when you start including solar panels, inverters, chargers, fridges etc.
In my case they even stole the agm battery.

I've never seen the value in going for the cheapest insurance quote. Too many variables in what you get for cheap insurance to be worth it in my opinion. More than happy to pay extra so that a stressful situation doesn't become a more stressful situation and is resolved in a timely and satisfactory manner.

Checked that out last renewal when it went up but CIL were still cheaper
There's no Great Evil conspiracy against consumers within engineering, manufacturing and supply. Just the many tradeoffs incurred to satisfy diverse tastes, priorities and wallets. But first comes all the insatiable Gummint eggsperts, nanny-staters and usual suspects.
