In late April we'll be heading off from Melbourne for 5/6 months.  :cup:

I'm interested in taking my kayak to do some fishing in various places along the way, our route will vaguely be across to Robe then Farina,Alice Springs,Lake Argyle, Katherine, Wyndham, Derby, Broome, then following the coast back to Melbourne.

Is it worth while taking the kayak or am I wasting my time and fuel ? I know until we get to Lake Argyle I won't use it but after that  ???

C'mon you keen fisho's/photographers how many places did you go to that you wished you'd had your kayak with you  :'( :'(

All the way from Broome to Melbourne via the coast? Damn straight I'd be taking it. Places like Dampier there's awesome fishing just up from the dirt ramp at the gas plant. Beats walking.

FYI There are salties ABOVE lake Argyle in the feeder rivers now.....
